![]() No K.I.T.T., no talking voice, no turbo boost, no molecular bonded shell & no incredibly sexy Bonnie (Patricia Mcphearson). It essentially hasn't hardly got anything to do with the concept and original idea of Knight Rider, until right at the end, (at which time I was falling in and out of sleep), when they build a car with armour and weapons on it. There is no doubt that more people would be interested in watching this film simply because of the title. Regardless, it was a good series, and the makers of this movie have just used the title of "Knight Rider" to get a bigger audience. If you haven't seen those two episodes yet then you must, they are pure comic genius with Hasselhoff playing Michael Knight's evil twin brother Garth, with a ridiculously massive fake stuck on beard!, classic. The 80's series was a classic even though I do think that David Hasselhoff is an absolutely shambolic actor, which really comes through when he plays two roles in the episodes "Goliath" and "Goliath Returns". How they can milk the classic "Knight Rider" series for this piece of trash is beyond me. Reviewed by HORROR_FAN_1 2 / 10 Terrible, just terrible. It would have been interesting to see if they advanced the storyline more. I always regret this show was not turned into at least a mini-series or series of movies like "Tekwar" was. The theme of humans and machines living side by side as opposed to united was interesting as well. Having them be "cowboy era types" was not a problem, but they should have also been cybernetically augmented, much like their leader. The post-apocalyptic setting is cool, but the villains should have been fleshed out more. The car should have been built up over the course of the movie rather than only appear in the last half hour or so (a mistake that KR 2000 also made). I honestly believe that this movie had great ideas, but should have taken things further. Beach does a good job at being a sheriff who walks the straight line and finds that always doesn't get the job done. The supporting cast does their jobs well and seeing a pre-Xena Hudson Leick is refreshing. He is in essence a "young loner on a crusade to champion the cause of the innocent, the helpless and the powerless". Jake McQueen is a cool character since he's not a pure good guy, quite frankly, the guy was a criminal and ultimately winds up serving justice, not just the law. ![]() It's not because the movie is a masterpiece, but it really does push the envelope on the KR legend and tries to do something interesting with it. Reviewed by apelinq 7 / 10 Not as bad as some believe.īelieve it or not, I've watched this KR at least ten more times than KR 2000.
